Yellowstone NP: Webinar on Bison

Tuesday, March 7, 2023 (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EST)

Description

Join GYC’s Senior Wildlife Conservation Associate Shana Drimal on Tuesday, March 7 at 4 pm MT to learn about the various efforts over the past forty years to give Yellowstone bison more room to roam.

Yellowstone National Park is the only place in the world where wild, genetically valuable American plains bison can be witnessed in large, free-roaming herds. They are the remainder of what was once a massive, wide-ranging population across North America. Bison are also essential to the spiritual, cultural, and economic lives of Native people. Today, close to 50 Tribes retain essential connections to Yellowstone bison. GYC is committed to helping restore these animals back to Tribal lands and select public lands across the country.

Shana will walk us through the history of bison in North America, where we are today, and what lies ahead for this iconic species.
