Program Comment for Federal Communications Projects Webinar

Please join the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) at a webinar scheduled on Tuesday, July 30th from 2:30-4:00 EST (links to join the webinar are below) to introduce NTIA’s Internet for All broadband grant programs and how the Program Comment for Federal Communications Projects will support the associated Section 106 reviews.

• NTIA is currently administering almost $50B in broadband funding to provide “Internet for All.” The largest of the grant programs, the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, has allocated $42.45B for broadband deployments in each state and territory.

• In March, after consulting with SHPOs and other stakeholders, the ACHP amended the Broadband on Federal Lands Program Comment issued in 2017 to expand its availability to all agencies for communications projects on and off federal lands.

• NTIA and the ACHP collaborated on a flow chart illustrating the (retitled) Program Comment for Federal Communications Projects process.

• The Program Comment will help states and territories deploy Internet for All within the statutorily mandated timeframes.
