ESHPF Capacity Grant - Application Deadline

Thursday, June 12, 2025

Description

The National Park Service will award $48 million for repair and recovery of historic and cultural resources in areas that have received a major disaster declaration in calendar years 2023 and/or 2024.

As part of the American Relief Act, 2025 (PL 118-158), Congress has appropriated emergency supplemental funding from the Historic Preservation Fund (ESHPF) to support the preservation, stabilization, rehabilitation, repair, and reconstruction of historic properties listed in, or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, equivalent Tribal registers, or designated a National Historic Landmark, either individually or as contributing to a district. Funding will also support necessary compliance activities and survey of historic and cultural resources to determine eligibility and the degree of damage, as well as administration of the grants.

Grants will be awarded through two competitive notices of funding opportunity:

1. Capacity grants to State and Tribal Historic Preservation Offices.

2. Physical preservation grants to States, Tribes, local governments, and nonprofits for defined projects to repair historic and cultural resources (including reconstruction).

Non-Federal funding match is not required.
