NARA Tribal Listening Session Invitation

Dear Tribal Leaders,
Our facilities in Chicago, IL, and San Francisco, CA, will be closing in the next few years. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is interested in engaging with you to better understand the impact of this change as we seek to lessen or mitigate any impact. We also want to build a relationship to receive ongoing inquiries and communications to meet your research needs after the facilities close.
NARA will host virtual meetings on the following dates that will be open to any Tribal Nation with an interest in our Chicago and San Francisco facilities:
October 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET
Please register by sending an email to tribalconsultation@nara.gov with the meeting date(s) your tribal representative(s) will attend and we will provide the virtual meeting connection information. Each meeting will cover the same content so there is no need to attend more than one meeting, but there is no registration restriction.
