Wind River Inter-Tribal Gathering
6/1/2022 - 6/3/2022
Description
Wind River Inter-Tribal Gathering
The Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes, with support from the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, invite all Tribes and Indigenous people with ancestral connections to Yellowstone and America’s Public Lands, to attend our upcoming in-person gathering on the Wind River Reservation. This year marks the 150th anniversary of Yellowstone National Park. This important milestone is reason to both reflect on the history of this special place and envision its future. Before the Yellowstone Park Protection Act was signed in 1872, the lands that became the world’s first national park were inhabited by a vast array of Indigenous peoples. Today, 49 Tribes have ancestral ties to the park.
LODGING: Negotiated rates are listed below. Most of the gathering will be held at the Wind River Casino, however, transportation to and from the Shoshone Rose will occur as needed. It is recommended to arrive by May 31 and depart on June 3, resulting in three nights’ lodging.
