NASA: Agency Master Plan (AMP), Programmatic Agreement (APA) Development Meeting

Description

NASA is in the process of developing a new Agency Master Plan (AMP), to be finalized in Spring 2023. The program of activities that will result from the implementation of the AMP, including new construction, modification, and demolition, will affect historic properties as defined by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (NHPA), at NASA Centers nationwide. In order to address its Section 106 responsibilities in a proactive and comprehensive manner, NASA is proposing an agency-wide Programmatic Agreement (APA) for AMP implementation that will simplify the Section 106 process and focus NASA's limited financial and staff resources on its most significant cultural resources, including buildings, structures, archaeological sites, and other significant spaces. NASA invites you to participate in the development of the APA. We are hosting an initial virtual meeting with all interested Tribes on May 3, 2022, from 3:00-4:30 PM EST via Microsoft Teams. The weblink and call-in numbers are below. In addition, NASA anticipates having an initial draft of the APA and supporting documents for consulting party review the week of April 18, 2022. Those materials can be sent to you via email or hard copy upon request; they will also be posted to the above website.

If you would like to attend the May 3 virtual meeting and/or participate in the development of the APA, please contact Rebecca Klein, NASA Federal Preservation Officer, at hq-crm@mail.nasa.gov. If necessary, NASA will schedule additional meetings to accommodate interested parties that are not able to attend the May 3^rd meeting.
