DOI virtual Tribal Consultation regarding the Federal Boarding School Initiative

Description

The U.S. Department of Interior will be holding three upcoming virtual tribal consultations in November regarding the Federal Boarding School Initiative to hear from leaders of Tribal governments, Alaska Native Corporations, and Native Hawaiian organizations to help lay the groundwork for the issues to be included in the Department’s initial report due to the Secretary in April 2022. These consultations will also lay the foundation for future sitework to protect burial sites and other sensitive information, in addition to, cover the specific topics listed in the Dear Tribal Leader letter.
