This comprehensive, in-person training is designed for:
  • Native Nations with homelands in the Great Lakes region
    • The Great Lakes region includes: Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri
  • Institutions with collections affiliated to the Great Lakes region
  • Organizations with regional or national influence in repatriation work
Participants will receive hands-on training and receive a certificate in:
  • NAGPRA regulations and legal requirements
  • Collaboration and consultation
  • Compliance strategy and documentation
This training is built for practitioners actively working in repatriation. Sessions include mock scenarios, collaborative problem-solving, talking circles, and focused workshops on compliance and museum management. Participants leave with practical tools they can use immediately.
