How can marine protected areas (MPAs) be planned and managed in ways that enhance ocean justice and equity? Join us for a 90-minute webinar introducing the newly developed Blue4All Justice Assessment and Deliberation Tool and the IUCN Guidebook for assessing and improving social equity in marine conservation, designed to support practitioners in strengthening equity and justice in marine conservation.

This interactive session will:

• Set the scene with global principles and guidelines on governance, equity, and justice in nature conservation (Cécile Fattebert, IUCN)
• Present existing SAGE tool through experiences gained in a Blue4All case study (Moses Adjei, Wageningen University)
• Introduce and demonstrate the IUCN Guidebook for assessing and improving social equity in marine conservation (Nathan Bennet, WWF and IUCN)
• Introduce and demonstrate the Blue4All Justice Assessment and Deliberation Tool (Riku Varjopuro and Aino Rekola, Finnish Environment Institute)
• Provide space for discussion on improving social equity and justice in marine conservation by applying different tools and Q&A
